Where our food comes from

It’s easy not to know where your food has been before it lands in your grocery cart. Often, before you even pick it up and give it a squeeze, it has already been on an international cruise, hung out below decks on a trans continental flight, and driven across a dozen or more borders.

When you buy groceries from Eat Local Huron, our county’s farmers harvest it, our community’s producers craft it, and we collect it. Then we bring it to your house. Your food comes from your neighbours.

Our online store is full of fresh produce, baked goods, dairy, eggs, dry goods, roasted coffee beans, kombucha, preserves and locally raised meats. To fill some necessary holes, we’ve also curated a selection of items from elsewhere in Ontario and Canada. We’re working hard towards sourcing everything as close to Huron County as possible.
